STRONGSVILLE, Ohio - Steve Klisz scored a late power-play goal, but it wasn't enough as the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks edged the Metro Jets 2-1 Friday night in Game 1 of their opening-round NA3HL playoff series at IceLand USA.After a scoreless first period, Cleveland tallied twice in 36 seconds to take a 2-0 lead into the third period.
David Fassbender scored first at 4:52 on a Cleveland man-advantage and then Andrew Mitch scored shorthanded at 5:28.
Klisz (pictured) made it 2-1 at 19:20, but Metro could not find the equalizer.
Dillon Kelley finished with 31 saves, while Alex Larson stopped 39 at the other end.
Game 2 is Saturday night at IceLand at 8 p.m.
